The Hutsul Highlanders for generations have developed a deep-rooted bond with nature in their magnificent secluded mountain valleys and forests of the Carpathian Mountains in Western Ukraine. It is the magic of oneness with the Carpathians that their talents have been honed into highly efficient master carvers from the many varieties of local woods that are available, sycamore, maple, pear, apple, alder, yew, cedar, walnut, and oak for their distinct colors and wood grains.
