Kyiv (Kyivskiy) lacquer painting style was developed in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine. It is based on traditional Ukrainian folk ‘Petrykivka’ art. This technique is a modern variation of Petrykivka art where an art object is coated with black paint then decorative artist paints over it. Once it dries several coats of varnish – lacquer – are applied, until the object has a warm glossy finish. Any item presented makes a perfect little gift for teacher, best friend or family member.
